A Hiking Club in British Columbia Canada

Sumas Mountain (South) Hiking Trail, Abbotsford British Columbia

Time: 1-2 hours round trip

Elevation gain: Under 1000 ft

Difficulty: easy/medium

Description: It's accesable, fast, scenic, and gives you a good workout. It is really just a small section of the Sumas mountain trail that gives you enough forest time to qualify as a hike. There is plenty of water, parking space, and forest. I hardly ever see anyone on the trail and always have a great time.

How to get there:
Drive to the number 3 exit off highway 1. Head to the west side of the
overpass (towards Sumas mountain). Take the first road on your right which will loop around and run parallel to the highway. Drive along this road for about 1.5 km till you see the pump station on your left. Turn left here and follow the paved road over the dam. Once across the dam, turn right and park. Ahead of you will be a steep rock wall, to the left of this you will see the trail.

See event description on calendar page for pre-departure meeting place for when the club is doing this hike next.
