BCMC: Grouse Mountain: Aug 8/09

Description

An alternative route up Grouse Mountain instead of taking the Grouse Grind. You drive to the Grouse Mt. Chairlift, and park of course in the parking lot. Look for the sign in the lot for "Grouse Grind". You cut up from the parking lot and travel a short distance until you see a cutoff for the BCMC trail. It sort of parallels the Grouse Grind except it's a real trail instead of steps. It's also UP all the way, I'd call it a B2b hike. Further up it nears "the cut" that skiers would recognize and then cuts over to the chalet. Allow 2 to 3 hours depending on fitness. Once at the chalet we have lunch and then take the chairlift down (Bring money as it costs at least $5 to take the tram and you may want to purchase a drink or food at the chalet. About a 5 1/2 hour day.
